Promoting RCBUDDIES.COM? Help if you can.
« on: May 10, 2008, 05:45:03 PM »
Hi Guys... Shutay has mentioned that perhaps we should try to promote the site. His idea was to put posters around Model / Hobby Shops. I suppose that's a good idea but how open do you think Model Shops would be to this idea? If you guys know of any shops which are willing to have the posters put up then do let us know here and we'll see how we can get some to them.

In the meanwhile, what can we do to promote this site and hobby to the local Malaysian? Any ideas would be welcomed. For starters, if you have a site or a blog, just link to http://www.rcbuddies.com so that we can get that extra exposure.

The most important thing is to keep politics out of this site. This is a hobby to be enjoyed and I don't want politics to be hindering any fun we are to get out of this hobby. Just like to share more ideas with other modellers enjoying the same thing.

Have good flights and good modelling fun everyone! Have a great weekend too!
 :)

AFAIK, we don't have a Facebook page. That is one idea. I guess we need to work on a few things:

1) Beginning with Moderators, please monitor your respective areas and try to be the 1st to reply, hopefully, with something helpful, or appropriate! If people don't get responses they may not return.

2) Content is everything I guess, so with more content, people performing searches on those topics may get directed to RCBUDDIES.com. So I guess I will have a go at putting up an article within a month's time.

3) Still on the topic of content, how about if, beginning with all the moderators, everytime you buy a bit of RC kit, you do a mini review? Doesn't have to be super in-depth, but write something that will enlighten the readers a little. I.e., something that they cannot learn from just seeing it online or inside a sealed package in a shop.

Any other ideas?
