« on: September 03, 2008, 12:21:47 AM »
Hi all.. i am just registered as member here... hmm last week my brother bought a Walkera 22E Deluxe Edition RTF Helicopter 6 channel..

i didnt open yet.. bcoz i am a newbie.. i not dare to play yet.. i check in forum said.. if u want to play the real rc.. u should learn from simulator first...

so i am thinking to get 1 simulator which is very close to fly a real heli one...

my friend intro me aerofly deluxe ... so if i get this simulator... how about the radio??
he ask me to take the esky radio simulator(dumb radio)

any expert can give me some details?

thanks :)

Hi Curt... Nice to meet you. I'm no expert in this hobby but for myself, I started off by flying the "dragonfly" which was a 4 channel driven helicopter with a direct motor drive tail. I managed to learn how to "fly" or rather "hover" with this heli. I believe as long as you take it one step at a time and not to move beyond your capabilities, it's safe to learn on the real thing. I never really crashed the heli except for some scratched blades.

Having said that, I bought Aeroflypro Deluxe and would recommend this to anyone. Of course there are also newer sims around like Phoenix RC. I use my old 6 Channel JR for this purpose. Learning on a Sim is definitely safer and cheaper plus it allows you to "go beyond your capabilities" to rather push the limit. This makes progress all that faster but again, you need to be disciplined when using the Sim and treat it as though you're flying the real thing. This is good practice and will result in good habbits forming in the long run. (i.e. don't simply fly overhead or do anything you wouldn't really do in real life)

Just like Kids learn especially faster than adults, the sim will allow you to do just that. Why? Coz Kids like the Sim, knows no limits or costs. When you don't fear crashing, you learn faster. Good Luck and welcome to this wonderful hobby!

Dear Curt,

Sorry am not too sure about the "cracked" version of Aerofly. I know whatever it is, you might still require a dongle. The software can be downloaded off the internet but it's the dongle that is expensive. That's what I know. Unless now they have software cracks availabe which I am not aware of.

Do let me know which one you choose and how you go about it. Would love to try Phoenix RC. Well I have tried it but wouldn't mind a cheap version of it. So far Aerofly is providing for me well. Yes it does save a lot of money.... From how I see it... If I crached in real life like in Aerofly, I think I might have hit a million ringgit's worth of crashes already.

Regards,
Adrian
