No support response from Ikarus.net

For those of you wondering how support from Ikarus.net is... here it is......

Dear Sir/Madam,

It comes with great disappointment for me to be writing this email to you. It's been more than half a month and I still have not received any replies from your team. I actually expected better support from a well known company & product like yours. In anycase, I have actually managed to fix the problem at my end, which seems to be "wear and tear" of the USB plug / contact points. I soldered another cable (with a new head) to the dongle and it works perfectly now.

Though I am not here to teach you how to do your work or provide support, it would be great to know a product has great service & support. I've heard so many complains esp in forums about unanswered queries or cries for help. It kind of makes me wonder whether I should hop over to any product as and when the time arises.

In anycase, I'd have to give your programming team a pat on the back for coming up with a stunning simulator. I've had no complaints about the simulator (well apart from the support issue now that I've experienced it).

Yours Sincerely,
Tan Kar Yin, Adrian

Subject: Aerofly Pro Deluxe Dongle Replacement

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you to inquire as to how I can get a replacement dongle for my #3021001 Aerofly Pro Deluxe software. I had been experiencing connection problems which I suspect is due to wear and tear (and elongation & stretching) of the dongle wire after repeated usage after I purchased the simulator about 2 years back. Recently I decided to open up the case and resolder the wire which was loose and it did work for a week or so. Now however, whenever I connect the USB end of the cable to the PC, it tells me that it is an "Unknown USB Device". I tried resoldering the wires again but it still does not work. I suspect the dongle could be burnt out?

I am based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Can you please advise me as to how I can get a replacement cable? Please provide me with detailed instructions as to what needs to be done to have the cable replaced. FYI, the Mono (or was it stereo) plug end of the cable has also cracked due to over usage and needs to be replaced too.

Awaiting your kind reply. I have been itching to fly the simulator for a while now and would like to get the replacement soon.

My Address:
xx xxxxx xxxxxxxxxx (Crossed out)

Contact Number: xxxxxxxxxxxx
Contact Email: xxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxx.xxx

My Dongle Number: Cannot be determined since dongle does not connect anymore

Purchase Location: Singapore Hobby (Singapore)

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours Sincerely,
Tan Kar Yin, Adrian
