Mini Titan - Crash Investigations (lose rudder horn screw)
« on: January 17, 2010, 05:57:09 PM »
I am using a Futaba 9250 servo for my Mini Titan's tail and recently I found out the reason why the heli just dropped out of the sky. The screw which was used to hold onto the ball link on the servo horn worked loose and fell off during flight. This is because the screw isn't long enough to hold itself and the ball link successfully to the servo horn. Without tail control, the heli just seems to have twisted during mid air vertical flight (pitch pump maneouver) and basically fell out of the sky. I'm now looking at how I can secure a longer screw or use an alternative to make sure the ball link doesn't drop off the tail servo horn (which is also larger than the normal hitec 65 horns).

Anyone with suggestions on what I can use or if I can use a trex part as replacement? Oh I've just installed the torque tube to my heli and I hope the heli doesn't crash due to this same reason.  :-\
The ground seems to come up a bit too fast!
