fying sites around KL
« on: November 14, 2007, 08:14:30 PM »
Recently returned to KL after a very long absence and would like to find out where I might start flying R/C airplanes.  My aeromodelling background has been all control line (old timer!!!) but have acquired a RTF R/C trainer by Hobbico (OS LA46 engine) and recently put together a Tiger Moth bi-plane from a kit by Greem Model Airplanes (Saito 30 four-stroke).  Can anyone help?

Hi Steve,

Try Kota Damansara (near Ikea & The Curve) flying site right next to Sri KDU. Basically from 1 Utama, you turn in to the right where you'd go to Ikea but instead of taking the left slip road, you take the underpass and drive all the way straight for a few KMs. When you see a Petronas Gas Station to the left, turn left and follow the road. The site is on a piece of land next to (after) the Sri KDU School which is on the right hand side.

I've attached a map to Sri KDU for your reference.

Welcome back to the hobby. I started off flying a COX 0.049 control line as well from Toys 'R' Us. Suddenly I feel so old!

Adrian,
Many thanks for the info. Just got back from a trip. If the weather here would only let up, I'll get to the field some weekend.

Hello Steve,

I am glad to show you around in Kota Damansara.  We are in the midst of upgrading the flying field with a proper landing strip and there will be a Sunshade on one side of the field.

Do PM me and will see you on the field.  What do you fly by the way?
Just Go Fly...
