Introducing myself
« on: January 17, 2006, 12:13:54 AM »
Hi! My name is Adrian and I am into RC planes and helicopters. Was introduced to this hobby when I was 15 yrs old. Now that I am older but non the wiser... I have taken this hobby up again after letting it lapse more than 10 yrs. Hope to share more with you all here.

Have a nice day!

Adrian, I spent 16 months in Kuala Lumpur on contract with Keretapi Tana Melayu, training on their fiber optic system.  My last time there was in 1998.  I did meet a few modellers, one namely Christopher Pheng.  Is he still in the hobby?  I have video tapes and pictures taken at the field south of KL, I believe it was the second or third exit on the highway going south.  Do you still fly Sunday mornings?

Hi ronljroy. Nice to meet your acquaintance here. Where are you from? Hmm down south... could it be Nilai ? I have been there once or twice but it was too far for me to travel. The name sounds familiar but am not too sure. Perhaps you can post his picture here or the video in the gallery section and we can all have a look at who he is  ;)

I used to do Sunday Morning flights but now have switched to Wednesday mornings. There's less of a crowd, less frequency clashes, less mid-air collisions and definately less tense :)

What do you fly currently (or used to)?

Hi, Adrian, call me JJ - Kuching.  I'm also into RC planes but not Car or Heli.  Soon to get the giant plane but not until I got all my gears properly.  Hopefully, we can share tech info of our hobby soon.
Regards

I'm Jason, and I like to think that I was the one who introduced Adrian to RC planes all those years back in the 80's (memory doesn't back me up anymore, so not sure!). Later on, studies took over all our time and RC fell by the wayside for 2 decades for me before I decided to get back into RC this year with an electric RC heli and electric RC planes. I love collecting those free plans from magazines and I'm from the old school who believes a real plane has stick and former construction and a glow engine.

However, one bows to market forces - I am now flying electric foamies. They're great coz they just bounce right off the grass if you crash. Yahoo!
