Maybe what you can do is to upgrade the motor to a more bigger/powerful motor. If not mistaken, yr SYMA boat is using twin-motor (correct me if I'm wrong!). If is a twin 350 motor, than maybe an upgrade to 550/600 motor will make it more powerful. But then, has to be careful with the receiver/speedcontroller combo. I also hv EP rc boat, using twin-350. It's good enough for my 3yrs-old boy. But for the dad, it's lame slow!!

How does this SYMA speed boat look like? How fast does it currently go? Those sold at the toy shops like TOY CITY or Toys'R'Us can't be that fast could it? If I had a choice, I'd go for engine power.... nothing like ripping through the water at speed with the screaming sound of an engine and feeling the raw power as well. Its the entire experience.. sound, sight and all that makes speedboats a thrill.

If its a simple electric boat... I suppose you can modify it to run on lipo batteries and use brushless motors with more kick.

Does one actually need a rubber dingy when playing with boats? if you're alone and you have a boat stuck in the middle of the pond/lake, surely you need a way to retrieve it. Swimming over can be dangerous and a mess and having a rubber dingy is too much trouble. How do you guys do it ?
The ground seems to come up a bit too fast!
